Her achievements as the Westpac Best Small Business Winner for Jagas Concrete and finalist in the Pacific Business Person awards underscore her leadership, dedication, and drive to make a meaningful impact. With a multigenerational background in concrete and a focus on transforming waste into valuable resources, Adaleen continues to pave the way for a healthier, more efficient future in construction. The late Allan Hall is the original concrete dude and key inspiration for this venture.
Allan Hall passes on to Adaleen and the team over 55 years of unparalleled experience in the concrete industry, having owned and operated two successful concrete businesses and worked with some of New Zealand’s largest concrete precast companies, and on some of the largest landmark projects.
A true pioneer, Allan has been at the forefront of developing innovative concrete techniques and products, earning him industry recognition and awards. His expertise and self-leadership have played a pivotal role in advancing the business, and Allan’s legacy continues to inspire innovation and excellence in sustainable construction solutions. One of his favourite sayings “God gave us each a brain so we can think for ourselves!”
Jack Griffith is a founding force behind SustainaBuild and its flagship product range, SustainaCrete. While he holds a part-time role in the company, his impact is anything but minor. With a full-time position at BCITO (Building and Construction Industry Training Organisation), Jack brings current, industry-wide insight that helps shape the direction of SustainaCrete’s innovations.
Jack’s career spans telecommunications, computer programming, and building—giving him a uniquely broad perspective on what drives business success. His entrepreneurial background includes co-founding the award-winning Jagas concrete, where the “J” proudly represents his name. Today, Jack continues to contribute on weekends, experimenting alongside the team on new sustainable concrete solutions.
A lifelong surfer and ocean advocate, Jack sees environmental responsibility not as a trend, but as a core value. His support for his wife Adaleen’s vision is both personal and principled, making him a quiet but powerful presence behind the company’s purpose-driven mission to transform the construction industry’s approach to sustainability and the wise use of our planet’s resources.
